When developing the next generation of wind turbines, ICM Engineering would like to help you, not only by manufacturing your anchor points for fall protection equipment, but also by being part of the design and development phases of the project. ICM Engineering can either assist in or take charge of designing and developing your fall protection anchor points. This process includes production, testing, and approving the anchor point according to regulation and specified customer requirements. Our project team utilises Advance Product Quality Planning (APQP). APQP is a structured method for defining and establishing the necessary steps for assuring that the final product meets the customer’s demands and requirements. The fundamental goal of product quality planning is to facilitate communication between everyone involved in the project, including the cross functional team, and to assure that all vital steps are completed on time. The benefits of using ICM Engineering and APQP include: Having direct resources to meet your demand Promoting early identification of required changes or optimisation Avoiding late changes Providing a quality product on time and at the lowest cost. The ICM Engineering APQP concept is very similar to the new APQP4Wind manual, which we can also implement on demand. The goal of both ICM Engineering APQP and the APQP4Wind is to make the processes associated with product quality assurance, product release, and product part approval as clear as possible. During the product design and development phase, ICM Engineering implements a product quality planning process to assure a comprehensive and critical review of the engineering requirements, and other related technical information. The major outcomes of these phases are: DFMEA Manufacturability Design verification and reviews Engineering drawing and specification Material specification Prototype build During the process design and development phase, ICM Engineering develops and creates the major features of the manufacturing system and its related control plans in order to create a quality product. In other words, the system will assure that the customer’s requirements, needs, and expectations are met. The major outcomes of these phases are: Packaging specification Process Flow Chart PFMEA Control Plan Process Instructions ICM Engineering has the capacity to offer rapid prototyping in the form of 3D printing or through existing prototypes of the designed anchor point. This enables us to speedily review design criteria and present a hands-on demonstration of the product, reducing project risks, costs, and time delay. 3
